What Causes Redness And Tenderness Around Belly Button After Gall Bladder Surgery?

I had gall bladder surgery 5 weeks ago and they repaired a hernia at the same time. However, I had the flu last week and was vomitting a lot so I think this strained my hernia. I have redness around my belly button & it is very tender above it. What do you think it is?

hi.

it is best if you do a follow-up consult with your surgeon for physical examination and clinical evaluation regarding your concern. your post-operative wound might have developed an inflammation or a seroma formation. daily wound care and completion of antibiotic regimen is also recommended. other diagnostics and management will be directed accordingly.

hope this helps.

good day!!
