What Causes Redness And Unpleasant Odour Of A Child's Bellybutton?

I noticed today that my 2 years olds belly button was red and had a strong unpleasant odor. She points to it a lot as she just discovered it. I don't know if maybe she has just been messing with it to much and irritated it. I gave her a bath and put some rubbing alcohol on it. What could be wrong and what can I do?

Hi,
It seems that she might be having infection in her belly button giving this problem.
Giveher one course of antibiotic medicine for 3-5 days.
Clean the part with cotton bud and apply antibiotic cream.
Ok and take care.
