What Causes Redness, Bump And Pain In Penis Of A 5 Year Old?

Hi there. My 5 year old has been saying his "winkie" hurts and when I bathed him this evening I notice that the shaft is red and swollen. It is also quiet red and there seems to be a type of bump on the one side. The tip is not red. He said it hurts when he wees and also when I washed it. However it doesn't seem to hurt all the time except if touched. Please help.

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.

By what you quote I put forth these possibilities -

1. Local insect bite allergy
2. Local cellulitis or infection under the skin.
3. Smegmoma which is getting secondarily infected.

I suggest you get it seen by your pediatrician at the earliest as it is a sensitive part.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
