What Causes Rise In Thyroid Levels Inspite Of Being On Medication?
Hi Doctor
Need an urgent help.My thyroid levels were normal two years ago. April 2009 TSH=2.04. By December 2010, the thyroid level shooted to 5.5.However to an utter surprise, despite being on 50 mcg Thyronorm, my TSH levels are multiplying exponentially. Please find below the readings.
TSH 150, T3 32.71, T4 2.7
Please help me. Was my medication incorrect? I tried to reduce weight, but instead gained weight. I exercise 1 hour per day.
My current weight is 71 and I am 5 feet four inches tall. My age is 25 and turned vegetarian two years back.No eggs too.I'm suffering from PCOS.
Awaiting the response anxiously as I doubt the medication given.
Hi dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your query.
Actually you have very high TSH and low T3 and T4.This means Hypothyroidism. This is the reason why you gain weight despite you exercise every day.
The treatement(Thyronorm) is not incorrect but you must talk with your treating doctor to increase the dose of thyronorm because your actual dose is not enough.
Don't worry ,with the right dose of Thyronorm, your thyroid tests will normalise. Hope i have answered to your questions. If you have further questions ,i will be happy to help. Wish you good heath.
