What Causes Screaming And Disturbed Sleep In A Child?

We have a six mnth old baby who has just started to drop off to sleep during stimulating activities she would sleep all night but now She wakes with screaming like she is afraid of something and for the first few minutes she acts as if she does not reconize us can u give me advice
