What Causes Segment Of Skin Hanging From The Anus?

Hello Doctor, I am an 18 year old female. I recently had a bowel movement and noticed a segment of skin hanging from my anus. I don t feel any pain or discomfort in that area. I also have normal bowel movements and no constipation. The size of the skin is about the size of an eraser on the back of a pencil and the color is pink. I have no sexual history and am a virgin. Please help me out. Thanks

thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com...

see this is most likely a case of anal skin tag....
it is a benign lesion and generally requires no treatment...the only problem it creates is problem in maintaining anal hygiene, sometimes irritations and erosions....
look for symptoms like pain, bleeding etc...if that happens, you should go to a GENERAL SURGEON to rule out piles, polyps and cancerous growth....

generally requires no treatment....but cryo-ablation is indicated for cosmetic purposes....

hope this was helpful...
contact me for further queries....
will be happy to help..
regards
