What Causes Severe Anxiety Along With Palpitations And Fatigue?

Ever since I was on Amioderone for AFib I have developed hyperhyroidism symptoms. Previously I was on hypothy roidism medication for 20 years. My doctor is trying to regulate my thyroid. My symtoms are: restlessness, anxiety, extreme fatigue, heart palpatations, mental confusion, headaches, morning agitation. Will symtoms abate once thyroid is under control? How long will that take?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Amiodarone is anti arrhythmia drug causing damage to thyroid gland. So hypothyroidism is more likely in patients taking amiodarone.
If it is difficult to manage thyroid issues caused by amiodarone, it is better to change this drug.
Newer anti arrhythmia drugs are having lesser side effects with good therapeutic effect.
So consult your cardiologist and discuss about changing amiodarone.
Once your thyroid issues are solved, you will be alright in all ways these symptoms.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
