What Causes Severe Cramping In Lower Right Quadrant?

I have been having severe cramping in my lower right quadrant. I cannot predict when it will strike. I can feel the gas build up. I have to lie down and it often will dissipate within 30-40 minutes. I have had a colonoscopy but it was clear. I have tried gasex and Ultimate Flora .

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Right lower qudrant cramps could be due to gastroenteritis or food poisoning etc.It can also be associated with your gas trouble.

If you can tell me any other symptoms like fever, diarrhea or abdominal pain etc would be useful to have a clear view.

You must go for routine blood tests and serum electrolytes mainly sodium, potassium and abdominal ultrasound or upper GI endoscopy.

Since your colonoscopy is normal then we can suspect the underlying cause could be in upper gastrointestinal tract.

You must be treated with antibiotics (preferably ofloxacin with ornidazole) and antispasmodics,anti-emetics with water and electrolyte balance.

There is no issue in taking gasex and ultimate flora but you can stop them taking further if they are giving any relief.

You must consult physician or gastro physician for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Thanks and regards,
