What Causes Severe Diarrhea?

Possible causes of sudden outset of bad diarrhea, had it for several days, worst I have ever had ? ... (note: I do have ulcerative colitis and a couple of times had to be treated for a CDiff infection, but a) it has caused things to be unsettled but nothing like what I have now, and b) I have been using VSL#3 probiotic for a few months and it has really helped ... until now) Thank You ... Your symptoms seem to be related to a viral infection.

Some advice that I can give to you is:
-Take over the counter option like Imodium drug
-Take probiotics
-Drink liquids
-Take oral rehydration solution
