What Causes Severe Fatigue And Cold Sores After Sun Exposure?

One year ago my 15yo son experienced heat exhaustion while at a youth camp. ever since then he has been experiencing, fatigue, exhaustion, eczema, cold sores, inability to think clearly, and mental exhaustion. Doctors have tested his kidney s which seem to be working appropriately. I feel like there is a deeper issue but I am unsure of where to go with this.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe fatigue and cold sores after sun exposure . There can be many factors responsible for such symptoms like stress,allergic reaction due to food ,fruits and drinks, vitamin deficiency and underlying diseases that weaken immune system. But in you case the symptoms are due to sun allergy or sun stroke. They usually go away by their own without any treatment .I would suggest you to apply some antimicrobial ointment ,start multivitamin supplement containing vitamin B12 and folic acid , drink plenty of water to keep your self hydrated and apply gel containing benzocaine for pain . Also take anti allergic like benadryl. If condition persist after 2 weeks then consult dermatologist for proper examination and to rule out other causes.
