What Causes Severe Hair Loss In A Diabetic Person?

My fifteen year old daughter has lost a lot of hair. I remove a lot from our shower every day. She is very scared. The only thing that is different is that 3 months ago she dyed her hair from blonde to black. Her stress is normal. Is there a medical issue that causes hair loss. no bald spot yet. She also has type one diabetes but her thyroid is normal.

Thank you for your concern.
There can be three reasons:
Firstly she may be iron deficient and at this age this is quite common
secondly, she may loose hair because of the dye
thirdly there may be hormonal imbalance
Hope this helps.
