Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Headache And Fatigue While On Lopressor?
Recently started taking Lopressor and am experiencing some side effects: extreme tiredness, headache and a feeling like I can t breathe right. Also, started wondering if I m clinically depressed. All of this since starting this medication. Wondering if I need to report this to my doctor to ask him to try something else to treat hypertension.
I'm sorry to hear you've been having some side effects from Lopressor. These are indeed common side effects from this medication; Lopressor can even cause depression or make it worse.
Given that you are having all these symptoms, I would recommend contacting your doctor so that it can be stopped and switched to something else. There are many other medications for hypertension.
So hopefully it won't be too difficult to find a replacement.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
