What Causes Severe Headache Persisting For 3-4 Hours In A Day?

sir, my wife had severe headache in these last 3 days at around same time i.e, 3:30 pm ,lasted for 3-4 hours , headache increased during micturition along with nausia , BP was 110/70 mmhg, measured when the headache was subsided. Past History of severe headache present ,one year back . h/o increased frequency of micturition and mild pain in the lower abdomen present but no h/o haematuria or dysuria . Looking forward for your valuable advice thank you .

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted the symptoms of your wife. The most likely cause of her headaches could be migraines. In this condition, nausea is common and the headache tends to get worse with exposure to sunlight or noise.

There are good preventive medications such as flunarizine, divalproex or topiramate.

Please show her to a neurologist.
