Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Hot Flashes And Constipation After A Cecectomy?
LAST YEAR I HAD A CECECTOMY BECAUSE OF A RUPTURED COLON AND PERITONITIS. I AM NOW HAVING SORENESS AND TENDERNESS AROUND MY INCISION. I AM ONCE AGAIN HAVING SEVERE HOT FLASHES AND PROBLEMS WITH MY BOWEL MOVEMENTS. OCCASSIONALLY I HAVE CONSTIPATION BUT MOSTLY THEY ARE VERY WATERY AND SLIMY. I AM WONDERING IF I COULD ONCE AGAIN BE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS BEFORE
Hot flashes and constipation are secondary to malabsorption or disturbed enterohepatic circulation of certain elements of digestion, rather than possible previous problem. Intake of plenty of liquids, high fiber diet and bulk forming laxative as Ispaghula husk or Psyllium husk are best remedies for current issue.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
