What Causes Severe Indigestion And Severe Pain Between Ribs?

I have been experiencing severe indigestion off and on all day. I take nexium daily for stomach ulcers and that keeps it totally at bay. This morning, however, I was snacking on potato chips and a few minutes later I started getting severe pains between my ribs. They felt exactly like the pains I got before starting on Nexium so I was not concerned. It has come and gone all day though, and worse tonight than this morning. I was out so I purchased some Zantac, and have taken it twice. It is not helping. Would heart attack pains do this?

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Your problem may be due to acidity,cardiac causes etc.You need proper clinical examination and investigations.
Investigation include routine hemogram,RBS,LFT,RFT,Lipid profile,Ultrasound of abdomen,Upper GI endoscopy,ECG in all leads.Further investigations like ECHO can be done if needed.
Proper treatment depend upon clinical findings and investigation reports.
