What Causes Severe Pain In Arm, Shoulder Area And Shoulder Blades?
I have a lot of pain in my left arm especially in the shoulder area. I also have a significant amount of pain between my shoulder blades with it being worse on the left side. The discomfort also goes all the way down the left side of my rib cage. It is very painful to even tough our have someone try and give me a massage. I use heat and ice along with Aleve for swelling and nothing is working

I have studied your case and there can be three causes of such pain.
1. Heart problem
2.Muscular problem
3.Cervical spondylitis
I would suggest you to get ECG to rue out heart issue. X ray of neck can help us in diagnosis muscle spasm and cervical spondylitis. I would suggest you to do hot water fomentation and muscle relaxant for this pain. If there is abnormal ECG than get it treated by heart specialist.

Due to compression of cervical nerve root there can be weakness in your arm.
Also there can be large disc bulge which can be compressing over spinal cord.
For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication like pregabalin can be started consulting your doctor.
Till time, avoid lifting weights. You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like Tens and interferential therapy may give you relief for few days.
I will advise you new MRI cervical spine and EMG-NCV [nerve conduction study].
