What Causes Severe Pain In Shoulder Leading To Difficulty In Raising Arm?

my right shoulder started hurting about two weeks ago, I thought I slept on it funny. I now have what I would call 9 pain and I can't raise my arm above the shoulder. The pain is kind of localized in the middle of the outside of my shoulder. and have been a waitress for 31 years, using my right shoulder to carry trays. I do have a bone spur in my left shoulder, so I know that pain, and this isn't the same. I need to know what you think this might be. Thankyou, Heather

Hi,
From history it seems that you might be having frozen shoulder.
Due to osteoarthheritis changes in your shoulder joint you got this problem.
Go for X-ray shoulder joint.
Go for physiotherapy of shoulder joint daily and regularly.
Short way diathermy will be helpful.
Ok and take care.
I find this answer helpful
