What Causes Severe Pain In Stomach Followed By Diarrhea?

I have been having Severe pain in my stomach that wakes me up from a dead sleep feeling like my guts are being twisted into a knot & is usually followed with a few rounds of diarreah. what could this be? I ask an RN about this & she said possibly my gall bladder? It is Very Painful!

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, it seems that you might be having infection of the gastrointestinal tract.

You should take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with antibiotic like Ciprofloxacin 500mg twice daily along with an antiamoebic like Metronidazole 400 mg thrice daily.
A probiotic will have an added beneficial effect.
For severe pain, you can take Dicyclomine.

You should take light meals prepared under hygienic conditions.
Also take care of your hydration.
