What Causes Severe Pain In The Upper Back?

I have intense hot jabbing pain in my upper back with nerve pain. I have not had a rash from shingles. This has been going on for almost 3 weeks. Have been on meds for the shingles virus but it has not helped. Have had blood test and all is normal also had an x ray and they found nothing. Going for an MRI tomorrow. Can you help me?

Hi, I understand your question and I will help you

If I were your treating doctor, I would like to tell you that you mostly have Herpes Zoster infection as It causes shingles and pain in your upper back and chest and I advise you to receive proper antiviral medications and NSAID. I also suggest consulting dermatologist for follow up
