Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

The recent onset of joint pains in the feet and great toe is not due to long-term Plavix, but suggestive of either a gouty attack, or, reduced blood supply to the extremities following narrowing of the blood vessels. (called Atherosclerosis).

Get a Blood uric acid test done. A course of either Colchicine or an anti-inflammatory drug, such as Indomethacin, will control the pain/ swelling. If uric acid is high, a long term drug to maintain its levels in the blood, would be required.

Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me, order required tests, and- based on the reports- will prescribe suitable/modified treatment as advised.
