What Causes Severe Shaking Of Body After Taking Levothyroxine?

I am hypotyhroid and on 200 of levothyroxine. My general doc and specialist disagree but from the moment specialist put me on meds 2 years ago 1st couple of days I was ready to jump out of my skin. Since then I have sever episodes of the shakes. Some times just hands, some times whole body. Some times my family says my whole body vibrates. Worst is if I have coffee and no breakfast. Had a gastric bypass around time of med increase. Really notice major increase when under stress. Some times can t even pick up water bottle without two hands because of the shake.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

A tremor in a person with a history of thyroid disease can be an indicator that the thyroid hormone levels are too high.

This can be checked by blood tests for TSH , T3 or T4. If the levels indicate high thyroid hormones then the medication needs adjusting.

This can be done by your GP or specialist.

I hope this helps
