What Causes Severe Shooting Pain In Vaginal Area?

I had laperscopic surgery for cleaning out of scar tissue and unataching bladder that attached to my pelvis bone. it was 6 weeks ago today, I am having very bad pains in the vaginal area, sometimes like a lightening bolt shooting through me and sometimes I have to stop walking because it hurts to bad to move. pain pills are not really helping. any ideas what could be happening.

Hello,

The symptoms that you are experiencing can be due to muscle spasm, allergic reactions, irritation to the nerves, due to some long standing emotional or physical suffering, generally it not associated with STI but some women can have multiple STD's. Get physically examined, if it is vulvodynia or some other pathology causing the discomfort.

Topical estrogen creams/ topical anesthetics, antidepressants/anti Convulsants are of much help. You can do pelvic floor exercises, take warm sitz baths, keep the vulva dry & clean, avoid douching, avoid addictions if any.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
