What Causes Severe Stomach Pain After Eating Something?

my friend is 65 overweight has dibetes everytime he eats about 4 hour later he has severe stomach pain which last up to 6-9 hours,he will not go doctors i have noticed worst time is when he has eaten bread,at the moment he has gone for a walk to ease the pain he has had for 6 hours last thing he eaten was paella and some pringles and toast
