Hi,
Your father is likely to be suffering from either gastritis or gastric ulcer due to H. pylori infection. but in this age group with history of weight loss may be a case stomach carcinoma. So, your father should go through some investigations like biopsy with Endoscopy of oesophagus and stomach, USG of abdomen, for H. pylori detection- ELISA test , stool antigen detection, rapid urease test and also total blood count. Consult a surgeon for further investigations and treatment according to test results.
Take care to your father, bye.
