What Causes Severe Vaginal Bleeding Other Than Periods?
I am 45 yo and I ve never had any vaginal problems. I have only had one sex partner for the past 10 years but for the past few months I ve been having a problem which I can beat describe as my vaginal lining sloughing off. It has now gotten to the point where it is very painful inside and it s like it is constantly happening, I have to where a panty liner all month long outside of my cycle time. There is no oder and I had some VERY unusual bleeding my last cycle. I do use tampons and one day I went to change it and is was clear of blood but once I took it out I began pouring blood as if I were urinating and once it stopped that was it. Any thoughts as to what may be going on?
This seems like dysfunction uterine bleeding (DUB). It happens just before menopause. Usually it may stop by itself, otherwise Ethamsylate tablet may be given to control heavy bleeding. If the problem persists, then ultrasound of abdomen is advised to rule out any neoplasia of uterus which may be fibroid or malignant tumor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
