Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a dull to slightly sharp pain that comes and goes in my lower right abdomen. It seems to be irritated when sitting, though I do feel it at times when standing or just turning or twisting in my seat . It is not constant nor does it prevent me from going about my daily concerns.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Dull to slightly sharp pain in right lower abdomen which comes and goes away and irritated on sitting or so indicates that there is an inflammation going on in the right side of abdomen like appendicitis, typhlitis and so on. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Get a clinical evaluation and examination by a General Surgeon. Get a CT scan of abdomen so that a proper diagnosis can be correlated and also get the tests of blood, urine and stool. Once diagnosed the treatment would depend upon the final diagnosis which can be either medical management or surgery if the cause is surgical. Follow the advise properly.
