What Causes Sharp Pain In The Center Of My Chest?

I have a sharp pain in the center of my chest when I sit up straight and breathe deeply. It s been a few days since it started, but is more prominent at night. I think it could be a pulled muscle, but I just want to make sure it s not something more serious.

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you have a sharp pain in the center of chest when sit up straight and breathe deeply . In my opinion it can be pleurisy/ muscular pain . Treatment of both the condition is similar i.e. rest and analgesic such as diclofenac. But I will advise you to get your chest x-ray done to rule out other conditions specially if you have fever or other symptoms. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
