Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 62 female and have had sharp pain in my ribs , front and back on left side. Very painful. They told me I had a bladder infection and put me on antibiotics, did nothing, had a cat scan to see if I had stones, no stones, and they said every thing looked fine. I felt constipated so took some laxatives and felt better. For three days, now the pain is back, I poop a little but not a lot. Back to square one, dr has no clue
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Rib cage pain may be due Vit D deficiency or hypothyroidism or myalgia etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Also checked for lung or pleural pain or herpes zoster infection etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
