What Causes Sharp Pain In The Upper Side Of The Torso?

I m a 40 year old hispanic female, 5 5 and 185 lbs. I work as an interpreter at an immigration office and spend most of the day (5-6 days a week) sitting down. I don t drink alcohol or due drugs. I m married and with three children of normal delivery. For the past few months I ve been having a sharp pain on the left upper side of my torso. It seems to aggravate as I stretch in the mornings. Also, I can feel whether is a cold or hot liquid as I drink fluids. I feel it on the previously mentioned area. The pain comes and goes and up to this date I haven t been able to see what may cause it.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Most probably it will be a simple musculoskeletal pain. As the first line of management, you can take analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, better to consult an orthopedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
