What Causes Sickness, Phlegm, Lumps, Barking Cough In A Baby?

My 6 month old has been sick for the past 2 nights but he s bringing up phlem and lumps of milk in it. He has a barking cough which hes had for at least 6 weeks and have tried everything. My gp listens to his chest and says its clear. It s affecting his sleep as he s worse at night.
