Hello,
Since Adderall works well, you can take it as prescribed by your treating doctor. Do not keep trying different medicine, it may do more harm than good. Since you have a hard time getting quality sleep, you should switch to healthy lifestyle. Avoid foods that are high in
saturated fat, they are also difficult to digest and cause insomnia due to heartburn and
indigestion. Regular exercises for 20-30 minutes daily will help better sleep. Get connected to a Physical therapist for cognitive
behaviour therapy,
relaxation techniques,
light therapy, etc.
Include food that will cause better sleep like take almonds and walnuts with milk, kiwi, fatty fish, rice, etc. Always take a warm comfortable bath before bed time. Keep away from PC, laptops, mobiles and anything that gives mental, emotional or physical stress. Go to bed when you feel tired for sleep and for sex. Anxiety,
depression, caffeine consumption, blue light from devices causes sleep disorders. Stay away from such things.
Avoid taking naps perform good
sleep hygiene. Practicing healthy sleep habits, take sleeping pills only when much needed, do not become addicted to it. Avoid nicotine, caffeine, and alcohol that disrupt sleep. Eat lighter meals at night and at least two hours before bed. Stay active, but exercise earlier in the day.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
