What Causes Slight Pain On Right Big Toe?

I have been having slight pain on my right big toe. Right around the area where the cuticle is. Its not red or swollen. It just hurts. Its been there for a couple of days now and today it hurts when I walk. Its not sharp pain, just a dull slight pain.
