Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My wife has reached 84 and has a problem speaking and making sentences . She also has a problem walking. I am looking for something that will make this go away for her. I think that steroids might help her, or antibiotics. I know her doctor will have to prescribe these drugs but what are your views.
Hi, Your wife may be suffering from transient ischemic attacks or mini strokes. These can affect both speech and balance. I suggest she needs a full neurological examination. She may benefit from starting a blood thinning drug. Regards, Dr K A Pottinger
