What Causes Small Black Specs In The Urine?

I ve noticed when I go to the bathroom after I urinate that they were a little black specs to fall off onto the toilet. I have no discomfort or itchiness and no other symptoms. I ve just recently gone for a Pap smear and everything came back fine but I still continue to see the little black specs on the toilet seat after wiping. What could this be?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* The most common reason for black specks in the urine is urine infection with associated cystitis giving shedding of epithelial cells in the urine.
* In our clinic, I recommend to give urine sample for microscopic examination in the lab and manage further accordingly.

Thanks.
