Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Small Orange Patches Along With Prominent Varicose Veins On The Oropharynx?
I have begun to notice small patches of orange with a few varicose veins on my otherwise pink orapharnyx. I have a history of chronic vomiting(at LEAST 3x daily) that seems idiopathic and I have yet to find a treatment plan that is effective. The orange spots and veins are new, though. I have had not any fever, sore throat, or any other symptoms of a cold lately. Any ideas on what this might possibly be and what treatment plans could help? Thanks
As per my clinical experience, patches over oropharynx do indicate possible bacterial or viral infection most likely. The details of clinical examination are mandatory in this regard for final comments, however, following points will help you to understand the issue in a better way. - Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil 3 times day - Prefer to drink more liquids as hot tea, coffee and avoid cold drinks - Prefer easily palatable food stuffs and avoid dairy fat, sugary items - Do not smoke if involved - Analgesic as ibuprofen with paracetamol after meals
Get a culture swab report done for the microbiological diagnosis of the condition along with rapid strep test.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
