What Causes Smell From Rectum?

A couple months ago I started smelling this odor coming from my rectum and it wont seem to go away. I had a doc check and they said nothing wrong. I noticed my son had the same smell when he had strept in his behind a couple months ago and I am running low grade temps on and off. Do I have strep or is it something else?
