Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sensitivity to smell along with wheezing and cough. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like COPD symptoms , acute bronchitis , acid reflux , asthmatic condition , sleeping apnea or upper respiratory infection. Avoid cold, carbonated beverages. For now eat light at night , take benadryl twice a day and keep your head elevated while lying down. I would suggest you to consult pulmonologist for proper examination. Doctor may order chest x-ray, blood test and check vitals along with vitals. Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist for upper respiratory tract infection or post nasal drip or allergy specialist for asthma. Doctor may also recommend CPAP machine after sleep study . Take proper rest and keep yourself hydrated , drink plenty of water.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
