What Causes Sore Throat And Red Lines On Back Of Throat?

My 3 yr old son is c/o sore throat and there are red lines on the back of his throat that look like he's scratched it??? Do you think this may be some sort of throat infection? ....

Hello. Thank you for your question. As you say, this is most likely a throat infection. Many of these are caused by a virus, and will resolve on their own after several days. However, some are due to bacteria and will require antibiotics. I recommend you consult with your doctor so the correct diagnosis can be made and the appropriate treatment plan implemented.
