What Causes Sore Throat And Stomach Cramps After Unprotected Sex?
Hi Doctor, I had risky sexual behaviour 7 days back. 2 days after that, i experienced stomach upsets and sore throat. I went for checkup after 3 days and my CBC showed WBC of 9.2. My stomach problems were not like diarrohea and went unnoticed .After starting antibiotic, my sore thorat came back to normal but my stomach upset turned into diarrohea. I took my CBC again and it showed WBC at 10.4. I am under too much stress in the last 7 days and hardly able to sleep. I am constantly thinking that i have got HIV. Does increase in my WBC can be because of stress? Do you think it is too early to show HIV symptoms in 2-3 days of exposure as I had read somewhere it takes min 2 weeks in general?

You are definitely overstressed as symptoms of HIV develop after a minimum of 2-4 weeks and apart from sorthroat there is fever, bodyaches, swollen glands, rash and ulcers in the mouth.The increase in WBC count indicates infection and could be because of your sorethroat and diarrhoea and it is also not very much increased to take stress about it.
