What Causes Sore Throat With Cold And Chest Infection?

37, 6ft, 84kgs, family history of hypertension.
I had a very bad sore throat and cold last week. I ignored it, and it became worse. Now, I have a mild chest infection, and have bloody sputum sometimes. I am on antibiotics, and chest x-ray is normal. Doctor says this is usual during cases of acute bronchitis, and rest and antibiotics should clear it up. I am very scared, please help me.

Hi welcome to HCM....

Your treating doctor is right....
See you were had sore throat and nasal rhinitis infection....
It can descend downwords and can lead secondary acute bronchitis....
In this condition blood in sputum can be there....your x ray also clear so no other respi cause can be there....
Take full course of antibiotic.....
For congestion antihistaminic drug can be given....

Avoid excess coughing ....
Take rest....
Drink lots of fluid....
Avoid respi irritants like dust , environmental pollution , smoking etc....

If airflow limitation is there then bronchodilator can given....

Take care.

Hope your concern solved..
