What Causes Sore Trapezius Muscle After Getting A Deep Massage?

I had a deep massage three months ago. A couple of days later I developed a sore trapezius muscle. It has improved somewhat over time, but I still wake up with a stiff neck and slight pain which radiates down to my elbow. This stiffness and paid works itself out within an hour or two. Any suggestions?

I do not recommend such massage as some time they can cause disc herniation and even paralysis. No sudden jerk to neck as you some time get in saloon when they give you head massage.
Now about your present issue, i would suggest you to take hot water fomentation and massage. If there is any tingling and numbness is also present then I would suggest you to get a MRI of the cervical spine as there can be acute disc herniation.
