Getting spasm and acidity after lunch indicates the following possible reasons:
Gastritis or
duodenitis.
Small bowel, particularly jejunal pathology like inflammation,
tuberculosis with stricture or so.
IBS that is
irritable bowel syndrome.
This can be diagnosed by the following:
Clinical evaluation by a Gastroenterologist or a
General Surgeon.
X-ray of the abdomen in standing position particularly when in spasm.
CT scan of the whole abdomen.
Tests of blood, stool and urine.
Colonoscopy and an upper GI endoscopy.
If a disease is found, get treated accordingly.
If all the investigations are normal go for the treatment of IBS, control of stress and anxiety.
Identify and avoid the foods and beveragescyhat instigate or enhance the problem.
