What Causes Speech Disorder When Diagnosed With Tremors?

I have, what my M/D. says is tremors.... Along with that I have in the past few months, developed a speech problem.. I cant enunciate words, well. Could that be connected with the tremors and what can be done about it? I also choke easily, and slobber saliva when eating.... Could it all be connected? I was given a med. for Epilepsy and was good to begin with, then the speech thing happened... Please advise.... My email is YYYY@YYYY

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms sound very PARKINSONIAN and if your tremors are the type that occur when you are at rest with the hands MORE than when the hands engaged in doing things. Then, the diagnosis may very well be that of PARKINSON'S DISEASE. You should ask your doctor to refer you please to a neurologist who can diagnose the tremor and your other symptoms (which I believe are related) and place you on appropriate treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
