What Causes Splinter Like Pain In Index Finger?

My index finger on the right side has a horrible stinging pain, whenever I touch it I scream. Dad says he gets them when it s winter. It feels like a bumpy splinter, no redness, bruises or accidents associated with it, and this is my first time having this splinter like pain.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that it can be a bone problem. I would recommend you to get x ray of the hand to confirm the diagnosis. Till you get this x ray done you can follow these advises.
1. Hot water fomentation
2.Tablet Brufen one daily, can be taken twice according to severity of the pain.
3. VOlitran ointment appplcation can be doe.
4. Strapping of the finger.
I hope these steps will be helpful. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
