What Causes Spotting Without The Normal Menstruation?

Ive been on nuvaring for about 7 years and my periods are very consistent. However over the years it comes later and later. For example when I first started nuvaring, my period would start the wednesday after i removed it on sunday. Over the years it has moved all the way up to Sun. or even the next monday before I start my period. This cycle I removed my ring on Monday instead of Sunday (forgot). I thought I was starting my period that next sunday, as when I wiped myself I saw blood, so I inserted a new ring, however this period was so light I didnt even need a tampon. Blood was just hanging around up there but never really flowed. This has never happened to me. Help! Im 35.

Hello,

Few days of delay in period is nothing to be worried about. Since you did not get your regular flow this cycle, please take a home pregnancy test as well to rule out pregnancy.
