What Causes Stabbing Pain At The Site Of G-Tube Insertion?

I had a G tube when I was a baby but every once in a while I get stabbing pain in the site. Any reason why my old G tube site is painful? For a while I thought it might have been related to being hungry or eating too much but It doesn t seem to matter how much Ive eaten or when, its just a random stabbing pain only by the old site.
