What Causes Stabbing Pain In Stomach?

Hello I'm a 21 year old female and this morning I was awaken by a very sharp stabbing pain about 2 inches left of my belly button. It hurts when I'm in any position and it hurts when I push in on it. I took 800 mg of Motrin and all it did was barely numb the pain. I have no nausea or loss of hunger (all though when I eat it seems to hurt a little more) What could it be?

Hi,

The pain you are having might be related to ovulation. If you are not on your ovulation period, then, should go to ER to get it further evaluated.

There are many causes to that stabbing pain, but further investigations are needed to determine the right diagnosis.

Hope it helped!
