Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had some knee pain and stiffness for quite a while. Especially after sitting on the floor and trying to get back up is hard. Recently though the pain has gotten much worse. I feel as if I am walking with a limp because it s hard to put pressure on my knee. If it s been bent for even just a little while I can barely stand up and it takes some time before I can walk normal. Along with that I noticed that it is tender to the touch behind my knee and on the outside of my knee. Only thing I can think of is a while ago I jumped off the bleachers at my sons football game, I had pain but it got better. Then I was stupid enough to do it again at my sons baseball game about a month ago and since then this pain has been getting worse. Thank you
First of all, may I know your age as this will help me to understand the exact problem you are going through. Arthritis is mainly a disease of elderly and knee joint is most commonly involved.
In this the cartilage dissolve over the years and bones come in contact with each other leading to inflammation and pain. You can do X-ray both knee for the disease's exact status and even your doctor can prescribe MRI or CT if details are needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
