What Causes Stiffness In Knee With Crunching Sound?

Hi. I have had severe grinding and crunching in my left knee for 6 months or more without pain.. recently I am beginning to have bad pain at the back of my knee and I have restricted movement in bending and going up and down stairs. .can you diagnose it?? I am female aged 51.

I really appreciate your concern, for the diagnosis of knee joint MRI is the only way out there, because this is very vulnerable joint for injury and very fragile one possibility of arthritis, effusion, torn meniscus, anything could be possible, and this can only be differentiated with investigations, hope this information helps, tale care.
