What Causes Stiffness In Neck Along With The Outbreak Of Rash?

Hi. I slipped on some water yesterday morning and fell backwards, hitting the back of my head, no loss of consciousness, no blurry vision etc. and went to work yesterday, drove etc. without incident. But today, my neck is sore/stiff, and I am experiencing a rash from the back through the sides of my neck (kind of hivy). Could the rash be related to the fall, or coincidental?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have stiffness in neck along with the outbreak of rash . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are either due to cervical spondolysis , allergic reaction , lynphanedopathy or bruxism . I would suggest you to apply warm compresses to neck and do light stretching exercises and try to make your self tension free and relax . Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant and recoment particular type of exercises and physical therapy . Doctor may also refer you to allergy specialist for allergic reaction or ENT specialist for lymph node swelling .
